Joseph Mihalak


Joseph is a full-time Realtor at Fine Properties headquartered in Sarasota, FL; he is licensed in Michigan as well.

He grew up in the metro Detroit area and started working at the age of ten, at his father's flooring store. Joseph began his real estate training about this time helping his dad at the family's rental properties. During high school at Brother Rice, he kept an inventory of ties in his locker to rent to classmates who forgot to bring one form home!

After receiving his MBA (while employed full time at Oakland University, Rochester MI), he purchased his first business, a small independent flooring store which he grew into 4 locations. From there on, he continued his business ventures buying or creating several others: a one-hour photo lab, a bakery, importing and selling ceramic tile, and started a carpet wholesale warehouse targeting landlords in Flint, MI. During this time, he started a real estate investment company, buying, remodeling, then selling and leasing small commercial properties.

You may ask, of what benefit are these experiences to me, the person buying or selling a home? The selling or purchase of a property is a business transaction with many, many moving parts, so all business expertise comes into play.
